Supplements – Support or Detriment?

in News

Do we need supplements? Yes!

Even with a perfect eating plan and exercise routine, and how often does that happen, we still have toxins in our air and water, the diminished nutritional value of our foods, and the constant stress we encounter with traffic, financial matters, family, work to name a few.

What is the purpose of a supplement?

Supplements should support, replenish, repair and balance our body until the body’s natural function is restored.

Do I need to take them for the rest of my life?

Each person’s situation is unique. Sometimes long-term use of a supplement is necessary when a person’s lifestyle or particular health condition does not permit the body to function optimally. If you’re confused, come to see me, and we’ll come up with a plan together.

And finally, How do I know what brand of supplement is the best?

Supplements are not overseen by the federal government. So, the quality of the ingredients or even the amounts given on the label may not be what is actually in the bottle.

There are 3 different grades or categories that supplements fall under:

  1. Pharmaceutical Grade: The grade meets the highest regulatory requirements for purity, dissolution and absorption.
  2. Medical Grade: Although this is a good product, it is not subjected to the same rigorous testing and standards as Pharmaceutical grade.
  3. Cosmetic, Nutritional Grade: Supplements of this grade may be sold in some health food stores. These are often not tested for purity, dissolution or absorption and often do not actually contain the concentrations of nutrients listed on the label.

Dr. Jao is committed to providing you only the purest and most effective nutrients at highly competitive pricing. Our products are all pharmaceutical grade.
